I teach a inclusion classroom which comprises of nine to eleven year old female and male students. I team teach with one partner. I teach Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. My students are energetic and eager to learn which makes my job fun and rewarding. Because of my group of students it is imperative that I am able to reach them and give them the accommodations that the so desperately need. Currently my students have devices that they are sharing with their younger and/or older siblings. The technology scarcity has made it almost impossible for all of my scholars to get their needs met because the times conflict with other siblings or parents' ability to complete their work.
My Project
These materials will enable my students who have sensory deficits to get a concrete understanding of abstract concepts. My students will be able to work collaboratively to create tangible projects that will enable them to be more successful with their interactions of scientific and mathematical concepts. As we progress through distance learning, I will be able to send each student a small project that can be routinely sent back, sanitized, and rotated throughout my entire class. My students will have sensory materials to decrease and alleviate their frustrations and anxiety by creating a fun working educational community.
