Science Magazines to take Us on a Magic Field Trip
My students need 30 subscriptions to Weekly Reader and Time for to learn about current science topics and current events in their world.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Danner's classroom raised $457

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are unaware of the world outside of the little "box" around where they live. The science books that are used at our school are old and do not have current science topics. My students need to understand science topics and the complicated world.
My second grade students are wonderful but unaware of things that affect their daily lives.
I need Weekly Reader and Time for Kids to enlighten their lives and help to teach difficult to understand science and social studies concepts. I know that with these necessary resources the students will become enlightened members of society able to make educated decisions about their world in the future.
My Project
The science magazines will allow my students to travel into space, deep into volcanoes, and search for the causes of earthquakes while reading the weekly magazines. My students will be free to read, inquire, question, and search for the answers all at their fingertips. I an anxious to use these magazines to further understanding of the world for these students who often never leave their block.
Please help my inner-city second graders leave the city at least and go on a magic science school bus on a weekly basis in their minds and through the reading of Weekly Reading and Time for Kids.
