My students need Science World magazines. I’d like students at Kennedy to see how science knowledge is continuously changing. Students will learn through current events.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Genoves's classroom raised $278
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
- A busy and joyous hum, where students share and learn from one another.
- I want students to be independent thinker and able to find information that help their development.
- “He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever”
Students are eager to find fun and a deeper meaning in science.
They enjoy hands on activities and want to be more connected with their surroundings. Students have few opportunities to travel outside of their community; they need adventure and excitement in their own back yard.
My Project
Students will engage in weekly reading with partners, groups, or on their own; and engage in classroom conversations with their classmates about the diverse topics that they read. Students will also have the opportunity to reflect, through writing, about the readings.
Through regular reading of science magazines, students will be better aware of ‘hot’ science topics currently relevant in our world.
Student will be better traveled and better aware of global science through reading the stories and articles in the magazines.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
