My Students

My students come from a diverse background. The public school is located on an airforce base that has about 30% ELL (English Language Learners), with around 60% of students receiving free and reduced lunches. I am needing to add resources to the classroom to help my students with Science, and Math. They will be able to use the items in their centers to reinforce what is being taught. All these students are wanting to learn, and are excited to learn. The students come from lower-income families to military children and have a mixture of diverse cultures. My students are also children of the military and are usually only here from 1 1/2 years to 4 years.

My Project

These kits will allow the students to have hands on science resources in order for them to practice what we have been learning in science. The students will be able to break off in groups and be able to practice what we have been reading about in science, use the items to make or assemble and be able to further their knowledge in science community.

The students love to learn about science but they seem to "get it" with the hands on knowledge, and retain the knowledge that they acquired during the lesson.
