This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, creative, and ready to explore learning! They are interested in anything you put in front of them. I teach at a Title I school, and most students receive our free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast program. These students do not have as many opportunities as most children in the surrounding area. I am here to challenge them in a safe environment, so they can be successful in the world we live in. My class has seven different languages and teaching can be a challenge. But these children are priceless and I wouldn't want to be teaching anywhere else.

My Project

We need to put tools in the hands of little learners, to help them become engineers. In this Science investigation, students investigate how pushes can change the speed and direction of falling objects. In the activity, Boulder Bounce, students play a game where they design a solution that protects a model town called Tiny Town from a bouncing-ball “boulder.”

We need to put together a kit that has: a ping pong ball, push pins, binder clip, and a cup for each child to participate.

Scientists record their results they discover from their experiments. Students are learning their letter names and sounds and by having kinetic sand and chalk, this will make learning their letters more fun. Kindergarteners use a lot of paper to help them learn the basics of school. They also need folders, to help them organize their findings.
