My students with autism are amazing. I am a special day teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am trying to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are excited to explore and learn to expand their capacity for critical thinking.
They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
My Project
My students with autism will learn about science by being able to engage with comprehensive hands-on lessons and explore with manipulatives. My students will be able to investigate and study eight different subjects including seasons, weather, and outer space. With hands-on tools from each scientific, all-inclusive theme box, my students will be able to discover basic scientific inquiry. With these tools they will be able to acquire insight in science with a concrete sense of each concept.
I will teach my students with autism scientific concepts by engaging my students' learning with the scientific lessons in each themed box kit.
