Help me give my students a great first start to science! I cannot wait to introduce them to the microscope to learn about different organisms and bacteria and use the hot plate for the best experiments!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
In this last quarter of the school year we are getting into science. I'm starting with teaching my students about living things such as plants and animals, so i have added supplies to the list for them to create their own terrariums that they can take home at the end of the school year. This will teach them care and maintenance for other living things. On Thursdays, we have an extra hour so I wanted to utilize that time for really cool science experiments. Not only will it keep the kids active, it reinforces the importance of STEAM and encourages them to use their imagination, think outside the box and learn while having fun!
I have included materials for the kids to engineer a solar oven and make smores outside in the coming weeks!
They have also been really curious about bacteria and what it looks like and how it can be harmful to us so I plan on showing them how its important to keep our hands clean at school especially during flu season with the help of the microscope. In my project, basic science materials are added so that the kids can dive in deep and when questions arise we may do experiments that relate to their curiosity.
My students are extremely special to me. I moved up with them from kindergarten and into first grade because I care for them so much. My class is full of personality and good brains! These kids are the leaders of the future and exposing them to endless opportunities to learn will guide them to a successful and limitless future! With these supplies we will make the best out of everything science has to offer while having fun!
