My Students
I teach fourth grade at an awesome Title I, neighborhood school in Coconut Creek, Florida. My students are a diverse group with various learning needs and challenges. Many come from different countries. For many of them English is their second language. My students are motivated by hands-on, real-world, engaging activities. They love reading and math and learning new concepts daily.
We are a Title I school which means that more than 60% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches.
My Project
Scholastic Science Magazines are a fun way to introduce new science concepts to students. The high interest articles captures the attention of every child and makes science fun to learn.
Scholastic Science will provide a different perspective on science for my students.
Textbooks are boring and often written above grade level, making it difficult for students to understand.
This magazine will provide an easier way to present information that the students will comprehend.
Making science relevant and interesting is important if we are going to encourage children to dig deeper into science. After all, we never know which child will be the one to make the greatest future impact in this field!
