Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I would like to have a one-year subscription to Super Science. This magazine meets students' need to focus on reading materials that are content-based in helping prepare them for science textbooks in the future. This weekly magazine discusses science topics and facts related to the Science standards. Each week a new topic is addressed. For each topic there is a list of related articles and experiments that can be done at home. This also helps develop science vocabulary and concepts. With the use of this magazine and my science textbook, my students will be able to use different types of text to gather information and learn different scientific skills. As the students get older, they will be required to use various materials to get information on science topics. By using this magazine as part of my science instruction, I am introducing a new type of media to my students. I am also reinforcing reading skills they need. This magazine is a wonderful teaching tool. If you choose to donate this item to my classroom, you will be very much appreciated by the students. Most third grade students love science. This is another activity to foster their interest and knowledge related to science.
