Science in Their Hands: Empowering Elementary Learning Through Discovery

Help me give my students tools and resources to explore science through hands on experiences!

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Galante's classroom raised $673

My Project

My students are full of questions about the world--why do shadows move? What happens when water disappears? How do animals survive in the Arctic? This project brings science to life in our classroom through hands-on tools, engaging experiments, and inspiring stories.

With your support, we’ll receive materials like flashlights, mirrors, magnetic wands, bug viewers, and clipboards that will allow students to explore light, magnetism, and the natural world through direct observation and experimentation.

We’ll also use lab coats and science-themed books to create a fun, immersive learning experience that builds both scientific and reading skills.

This project turns our classroom into a mini science lab where students take on the roles of scientists, engineers, and environmentalists. They’ll investigate, hypothesize, and learn through doing—developing critical thinking and collaboration skills along the way.

My students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many face challenges outside of school--but when they walk into our classroom, they’re ready to explore and discover.

What makes them truly special is their imagination and determination. They ask thoughtful questions, support one another, and thrive when given the chance to experiment and learn with their hands. This project will give them the tools they need to engage more deeply with science--and to see themselves as capable and creative problem-solvers.

The goal of this project is to help my first graders explore science through hands-on learning and fun activities. With flashlights, magnets, mirrors, and bug viewers, students will make discoveries and learn by doing. Lab coats and clipboards will help them feel like real scientists. The science-themed books will build knowledge and support reading skills. These materials will spark curiosity, build confidence, and help my students work together as creative, curious learners.
