Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher and I teach students that are 3-5 year olds. My students have developmental difficulties such as speech and vision problems, limited motor skills, sensory processing difficulties and/or special learning challenges. These kiddos come from low-income communities and face challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite their challenges, my students come to class happy and eager to learn.
They love to be a part of the class and make new friends. I love teaching special education and give them new experiences as well as new exposures that help enhance their learning. Being their teacher is my greatest joy and I can honestly say I learn something new every day.
My Project
This year I want to incorporate more science hands-on activities to keep my students engage. This project is to support a new center in my classroom, the "Science Center." Since it's a new center in the classroom, we need the basic science supplies for the new center. I'm requesting a magnetic discovery board, a Jr. My First Microscope, Insect Collection, Life Cycle Puzzles, Color Mixing Glasses etc. All these items will be a great addition to the classroom and to their learning.
These items will help us get the science center started.
