My Students
"Tell me, I'll forget. Show me, I'll remember, Involve me, I'll understand." This quote emphasizes the importance of hands-on experiences. When students have the opportunity to explore and inquire, learning at its highest level takes place.
My students live in a low economic community and attend a Title I school.
My students are a group of energetic boys and girls. They are inquisitive and eager to learn and explore everyday. They have not been granted exposure to the scientific world around them. However, they have a strong desire to explore.
My Project
I am requesting one STEM Learning Lab and four Activity Tubs for Properties of Earth, Matter, Electricity and Force & Motion. I am also asking for Science File Folder Games and graduated cylinders.
With these resources, my students will be able to conduct experiments on a daily basis. They will be able explore concepts such as matter, force and motion and electricity with hands-on materials. These resources will be the platform by which my students become inquirers and investigators. My students will learn the scientific connection between what they have to learn and the world around them. Also, they will create and prove hypotheses.
Hands-on experiences in science help students understand how the world works.
Donating to this project will give my students the opportunity to explore and take an in depth look into the science world. These science materials validate the authenticity of being scientist in the classroom. These experiences can ignite a passion for science that can lead to a career in a science related field.
