This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are excited about creating. Our school is located in the rural Mississippi Delta. We are a Title I school where 100% of our students qualify for free lunch. My students don't have many opportunities outside of school to explore the arts. We are a very small community.
My students are so excited to learn about artists and mediums.
I enjoy seeing the excitement in their eyes. When students create artwork, they are filled with pride and love to show it to their other teachers.
My Project
Hello! Our project is for science intervention workbook, organization, and supplies to use during our interventions to keep us organized. I teach visual arts. I teach across the curriculum, art is EVERYWHERE! Art is science, music, math, history, writing, and it goes on and on...
I work with students in small groups in the area of science and language arts to help close the gap in learning.
I need items such as file folders to keep documentation of student work. These folders will allow students to hole punch and keep up with their work- plus it won't fall out of the file folder like normal file folders. Students need a workbook to use as a resource. Students need a hanging file to keep their files in one place- when we are working on art, we need all the counter and table space to drying and storing artworks.
