My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 80% of our students receiving free lunch.
When they walk through the door, I want them to feel important and know they have a safe learning environment.
My Project
My students have been learning about the body systems as part of the Next Generation Science Standards. They have really been enjoying it so I would like to have some 3-D models to further their understanding of the human body.
I would also like to add some Gaiam Kids Stay-N-Play Children's Balance Balls as an option for some of my more active students.
Along with the Balance Balls I would like to have some desk bands for the active students. I have some flexible seating options but some students like to have a regular chair. The bands would help them focus but still be able to move while learning.
