This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students will start kindergarten this fall ready to learn in two languages as part of our Spanish Dual Language Program. Science integrated with Language Arts will be in Spanish while Social Studies is integrated with English Language Arts. We are also an inclusion school, which means that we have a wide range of diverse learners.
Science folders and composition notebooks will be a great way to start our school year strong.
We are a Title I school and not all of the students are able to bring their school supplies on the first day of school, and others are not able to bring them at all. My goal is to have these science materials ready for each of my student on the first week of school. This means, a folder with a composition notebook and the mesh pouch with other materials to use during science such as pencils, crayons for each child. These projects will benefit and ensure that each child has just what it needs to start our school year strong and no worries about missing supplies from home.
The classroom lamp will provide a calmer and inviting learning environment and will allow students to stay focus, specially students with sensory needs. The tape will be used to tape labels to the science folders and journals.
