My Students

I have 22 students and they are the most wonderful students in the world. They have wonderful personalities and a true love for learning. These students are the strongest group of 3rd graders that I have ever met. They have been through a lot in their lives and in most people's opinion they are forced to grow up a lot sooner then they should. Despite all of the challenges that they face, my students are dedicated to doing the best that they can and make the most of themselves. My students come from a low-income rural school district. We provide free breakfast and lunch every day to make sure our students are fed and have energy throughout the day to help with engagement and building a healthy, safe, and fun community. Despite our schools socioeconomic status, our students DESERVE to learn in the 21st century.

My Project

These microscopes will be frequently used by 3rd grade future scientists! We will explore our world by looking at the smallest parts of it. The first job of scientists is to observe critically. Students will need to draw what they see and write a description. The microscope is a hands on activity. The microscopes make the invisible visible. Our world has so many parts that my students have yet to be exposed to, I am hoping that I will be able to get them even more excited about learning about the world around them with these microscopes.
