My Students

My students have been exploring the world around them during Science, and they can't wait to share their discoveries with the rest of the school! To do this, they need supplies so they can have their very first Science Fair!

My students attend a public school in a high poverty area of a large urban setting.

Over 80% of my students receive free or reduced lunch. The truly diverse student body is comprised of students from all parts of the globe and many world religions. My students love learning, and love to share their learning. Our students work hard and are making huge leaps in Literacy and Math despite the challenges they face. A well-rounded education is extremely important in this global age, and to this end we are introducing and integrating more Science into the curriculum to help foster a lifetime love of learning through the joy of discovery. We are having our first Science Fair this year, and the students can't wait to create their displays!

My Project

My students need 30 Trifolds, large Sharpie Markers, and Rubber Cement so they can create their Science Fair displays. I am requesting these supplies so my students can create exciting, visually stimulating displays. To inspire our students to ask questions and use the scientific process to answer their wonders, we are having our very first Science Fair! Our elementary students are selecting their own topics, designing their own experiments and collecting data, which they will then synthesize into a trifold display. My students cannot wait to create the trifold displays that will allow them to share their hard work with not only the whole school, but their parents and the community as well.

Science builds on and fosters a love of learning, inquiry and exploration of the world that extends to all subjects and aspects of life.

To excite our students to explore and delve deeper into the world and their education, we need access to these materials that would otherwise be unavailable without your help. Thank you.
