Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are kids full of energy and curiosity for new things and subjects. 90% of my classroom's first language is Spanish, and they learn all the subject areas in Spanish and English. In fifth grade, students learn both languages, and they need to be proficient in both languages by the end of the school year. They love arts and crafts, sports, and science.

My kids come from an immigrant neighborhood, and I share a lot of the same traditions and culture as they do.

Teaching is something that I enjoy and love.

My goal this year to inject art, social studies, and science into everything we learn. As their teacher, I need to work hard to motivate and energize my students and for them to take the learning process in a serious way. Students learn so many things when there is a good use of classroom resources and lessons.

My Project

In this school year, we are going to need awards for our science fair that will take place in the month of January. During the science fair, my students will create a poster, that has all the information, data and conclusion from their science experiment. They will be judge by volunteers that will help us for this science fair and we will select 3 first places.

Students will have the chance to present their scientific findings in front of other adults, this is with the intention of motivating my students to explore, learn and talk about science and other exciting science fields.

My students will participate in groups and they will have the help from other adults. We need awards for this science fair so that it help us engage my students more in school.
