Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their natural curiosity and their growing passion for understanding the world around them. They ask thoughtful questions, care deeply about the environment, and are eager to make connections between what they learn in school and the real-world issues they see unfolding. They also work well in teams, supporting each other as they explore complex topics.

For our project on investigating climate change in Illinois, each resource plays an important role in supporting student learning.

Access to historical climate data enables students to examine real evidence, practice interpreting trends, and draw their conclusions. Graphic organizers and research tools help them stay focused, organize their findings, and think critically about the causes and effects of climate change. Chart paper provides a visual and creative outlet for them to showcase their learning, encouraging them to think critically about how to communicate complex information clearly to their peers.

This project not only strengthens their science and research skills but also empowers them to take ownership of their learning, collaborate meaningfully, and speak confidently about an important global issue. Every resource helps ensure that each student can engage with the material in a way that matches their strengths and learning style.
