My students need a laptop computer and a case to help my students with environmental science projects, as well as math and reading. We desperately need an upgraded computer.

My Students
In our classroom, the children rise to the challenge of meeting and exceeding the rigorous demands of the curriculum. Each day the students strive to become fluent readers, capable writers, and develop a sense of science that provides understanding. Learning is fun, and smiles are abundant in our class!
Since our school is Title 1, our goal for each student is for them to become successful scientist and readers in school and life.
A strong foundation will provide the stepping stone they need to excel and have opportunities to succeed. Most of my students live in financially assisted housing and receive free lunch. Although they are poor financially, they are rich in heart! The entire school strives to nurture the students with love and knowledge. High expectations are producing results. Students in our school know that education is the key to becoming productive members of society.
My Project
My project will provide needed supplies and opportunities for the children in our school and show them that science and math is everywhere around them. My students need an laptop computer to assist them with this "Science Environmental" project. I want my students to be able to learn about science through hands-on experiences. The students will use this at home to create this project. I want my students to have these experiences and love learning. I will use sustainable energy themed units with our science school programs. I teach a wonderful group of student!
Unfortunately, our school is located in a low income area with 100 percent of the students receiving free or reduced lunch.
Many of the students come from single parent families or families with only one parent working.
Science, math, and reading are integral parts of our daily lives, but many many times science is omitted because of resources. I plan to have my students be detective/sleuths each day and research science, math, and reading using these updated tools in our daily hands-on lessons. Each group will share their findings during Sharetime or Morning meeting using student-led activities. Next, the students will share these activities at home with their family and keep data in their daily journals. In order to carry out this unit my students need a computer and case to combine the family and class as a Community Sleuths.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
