My students need a forceps, magnifying glasess and a microscope in order to look at some specialized cell cultures including those of plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria

I am fortunate to have an eclectic mix of students in my high school science class. They are young adults that bring critical thinking and life experiences to their learning. All of them are bilingual and have rich stories from around the world. Despite these differences, my students are evolving into promising scientists each day. Currently, my students are taking high school biology. Concurrently, they are learning English as a second language. Therefore, it is paramount that visual prompts, scientific artifacts, and laboratory tools be used to reinforce their basic reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities.
I am requesting an inexpensive microscope and some magnifying glasses. I want my students to investigates various types of cells in order to study their functions, structures, and processes.
My students need to have many opportunities to view several different organisms since many of them are still building background knowledge about the study of life.
By using a microscope, students will be able to see cellular structures that they haven't seen before. By learning cells and life processes, they can begin to deepen their inquiry into biology in particular and into science in general.
My students are learning the process of Scientific Inquiry. This process will empower students to use science-based reasoning to maintain their health and as well as the health of the planet.
