Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year my students have really shown an interest in science. Many of them are very engaged in the engineering part of STEM, but there are others that would like to see more things that tie into nutrition and life sciences.

I am requesting for binoculars, My Plate Activity center, and living things magnetic sets to expand our science center.

These materials will be used in a variety of ways. The binoculars will be a part of our outside science bin. They will be able to go outside and see things around our school and neighborhood. The My Plate activity center will tie in our connection to farm and nutrition units giving the students the ability to build their plate and explain where the food comes from. During center enhancements, the students will be able to use the Living Things magnetic centers to sort, label, and categorize different plants and animals.

My hope in adding these science materials the students will further their interest and curiosity for learning. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to thrive.
