This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of cultures and home situations. Many begin their educational journey ill equipped and find themselves struggling behind peers. Despite these differences and challenges, we have come together with a common goal: to improve our minds with quality education.

Our school, and the community it serves, strives to close achievement gaps with dedicated teachers and high quality instruction.

These young minds deserve to experience the scholastic success that hard work, dedication, and effort can provide.

My Project

My students need high quality non-fiction science books to facilitate a higher level of core science topics. These resources will enable students to simultaneously practice and develop reading skills while deepening their understanding of science. Students will use these books to discuss science topics and question the world around them. Not only will they gain a deeper scientific knowledge of our world, but they will also sharpen the crucial skills necessary to be productive members of collaborative groups. In addition to these fantastic science books, I am requesting some USB headphones to allow students to access a wealth of online content to further their academic success. These headphones will be used almost daily.

Donations to this project will improve scientific understanding of the world around them for my students.

The use of these materials will help to foster a love for science and a thirst for knowledge. It is crucial in our modern world to cultivate an understanding of the world around us. Through developing scientific inquiry from a young age, students will be better equipped to deal with the inevitable struggles that the future will hold.
