This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After attending a field trip to the California Academy of Science, my students showed a great interest in outer space, the rain forest, conservation, and the earth. They wanted more information. They wanted to do experiments with science and with household items. They caught the science bug, just like I did a few years ago. I found many books in the CA Academy of Science store and I took quick pictures of the titles and ISBN numbers to purchase the books at a later time. Now is that time.
I would love to inspire my children to learn about the earth and our universe with science books that teach us to conserve, experiment, and explore the world!
Books about the stars and the mythological stories behind them will help my students with science, storytelling, and writing skills. We will learn about conservation, reusing, refurbishing items, and recycling. We will learn about good nutrition and how bugs help our earth. There are so many exciting topics that we can use to teach us how to read, write, and learn mathematics. Why not do it in a fun way that interests the children, captures and maintains their attention, and inspires them to learn more?
