My Students

Have you ever looked at a poster and remembered seeing it for the first time in your middle school classroom? My scientists study a variety of science topics, from cells to anatomy, to chemistry to astronomy. We need vibrant posters around our classroom to help us visualize these important topics!

My middle schoolers are the most hardworking and curious young scientists I know.

Despite the socioeconomic challenges that my students face, they enter my classroom with respect, pride, and responsibility for their own future. Many of these students are low-income English learners in a Title 1 school. Some have learning disabilities and some have language difficulties, but many are learning science for the first time in middle school and they are so excited to be in a science class! Most of them plan to go to college and many of them want to study medicine in the future. Regardless of their low skills in reading and math, these students put forth their best effort to succeed in my class and they inspire their teachers to keep on teaching.

My Project

Due to school budget cuts, items for class decorations have been pushed aside for many years, but I believe it is important for students to enter a classroom filled with large, colorful posters of the topics they are learning. Science is exciting for many students, especially visual learners, who require images to help therm understand abstract concept. I am requesting large, vibrant posters of the science topics covered in class. From cells and chemistry, to posters of Darwin and Newton, these displays help familiarize students with the important figures and concepts in the field of science. "A journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step" These motivational posters provide great visuals for teaching growth mindset, the value of hard work, and the importance of grit. By displaying these important messages around the classroom, I hope to inspire my students to work hard and never give up.

By donating to this project, my students will receive visuals of hard-to-understand topics when they enter their science class.

By donating to this project, you will inspire my middle school students to be future scientists and doctors, and help them build a brighter future.
