My Project

During these uncertain times, it is especially important to keep the lives of our students as much a priority as possible, which includes their education. With this project, I am requesting resources from Scholastic to enhance the learning experience in many different content areas for my 2nd graders. This project is requesting a subscription to both Scholastic News Magazines at the 2nd-grade level, as well as a subscription to Scholastic Science magazine, Science Spin for our grade level. These are not new resources by any means, but I have used them in the past, and I know their engagement and academic success with students of all ages. I also appreciate the fact that students would have access to both digital and non-digital resources with these subscriptions, which will help with the learning process whether the kids are reading them at home or school.

With Scholastic News, my students can get help every week with various reading skills, while having fun learning at the same time!

These newspapers will help my students develop fluency and knowledge. With your support, you can help my students with not just reading, but Science and Social Studies topics as well. For children that may never leave the neighborhood or town they grew up in, this is a great opportunity. What a great way to also teach about tolerance and acceptance and even about global concepts, at such a young age. Topics about global awareness, different cultures, and other current events will surely be covered. This project will be very beneficial for my students at this time and will help with content in so many subject areas, no matter where the learning might take place. Thank you
