Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are coming from low income environments, so purchasing all the necessary supplies to complete the experiments falls on the teachers.

In my 5th grade classroom we do weekly science experiments.

These science experiments help students understand basic science concepts and get students engaged in the learning.

The scientific concepts that are explored in 5th grade are investigating the food chains and food webs, distribution of water and the water cycle, Earth, Sun, Moon and star patterns, and gravity.

Another fun activity to explore these concepts is making slime to notice chemical reactions and planting seeds to notice interconnected ecosystems.
