Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help us get science books that will support our science curriculum and can be added to our classroom library. Students will soon begin learning about types of clouds, forces, motion, and weather and climate around the world. All of these topics are of great interest to my students, but we are lacking these reading materials in our class. They have recently engaged in science activities related to dinosaurs and the job of a paleontologist. The dinosaur egg will allow students to dig for a fossil with a hands-on activity.

The sets of books requested will help students engage with fiction and nonfiction titles that cover these topics.

Students will get to practice reading skills like fluency and comprehension, but will also learn about scientific phenomena and how living things survive.

The soccer mat will encourage and engage students in coding their robots to play a soccer match. Students will learn to program their robots to make the movements of their choice. They will learn to debug their code to make their robots move the way they want.
