My Project
The Anxiety Reduction Counseling Program is designed to support individuals in managing anxiety by providing a holistic set of strategies and therapeutic support. This program incorporates a range of tools, including mindfulness, therapeutic techniques, and sensory activities like fidget toys and zen gardens, to help participants reduce stress, increase focus, and manage anxious feelings in daily life.
A unique feature of the program is the use of fidget toys, which serve as simple yet effective tools for reducing anxiety and improving focus.
These tactile devices, such as stress balls, spinners, and cubes, help individuals redirect nervous energy and calm their minds. Research has shown that engaging with fidget toys can promote relaxation and decrease the intensity of anxious thoughts, especially in moments of heightened stress.
Psychoeducation (e.g. books about anxiety) will help participants understand how anxiety manifests in the body and mind, as well as the physiological effects it can have. Knowledge of these mechanisms allows participants to better manage their anxiety through informed decisions and healthy coping strategies.
