School Supply Cart for Our High School Halls

Help me give my students access to basic school supplies like paper and pencils, erasers, notebooks, highlighters, notecards, etc.

My Students

I teach at an amazing high school in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I teach a class called Service Learning and am the adviser for the Kindness Club. The class is student-led and we work on various community service projects. Our biggest on-going project is the boutique and pantry we run with the Kindness Club.

School supplies are often difficult for students to access and we want to help take the pressure off of students by offering a few carts in our hallways with school supplies for anyone in need to use.

Our carts will be placed in the halls at our high school and be stocked with supplies such as sticky notes, note cards, paper, pencil, and the like to help students whether they just forgot a pencil for the day or need to stock up on supplies for a class.

My Project

Many of our students don't have easy access to school supplies. We are trying to help address that issue by placing carts in the hallways of our high school with basic supplies. If a student forgot a pencil for the day, they can grab one. If they need supplies for all classes, they can access those.

Students should never feel embarrassed because they forgot a supply at home or they don't have access to supplies for whatever reason.

Next summer, we will buy supplies on sale but for now, we will attempt to supply our carts with this project.

Our student population comes from a variety of backgrounds, with many of them accessing free and reduced lunch. Our students are the leaders of tomorrow and we want them to have access to what they need. We have helped with food, clothing, and toiletries and now we would like to help with school supplies.
