My Students
My students come from a low-income area and low socioeconomic backgrounds. One hundred percent qualify for free breakfast and lunch. We lack many everyday school supplies and many of the parents cannot afford to buy their children pencils, folders and other essential supplies for school.
Many of my students come from low-income households.
Eighty-five percent of the students are English Language Learners, so many do not receive much help at home due to language. The teachers at our school are mentors to the children. We want all our students to succeed. The school provides a caring and warm environment to learn.
My Project
My students get excited to receive the essential classroom materials to have for themselves. It makes them feel happy and want to do the required class work and homework. Having the materials such as pencils, folders, envelopes, composition books, door mat, tape, laminate pouches are materials necessary for learning. We use our laminator often, so laminate pouches are much needed. The Chart Stand and pocket charts will hold their new Math workbooks and reading books. They will be organized and safe. I like to spray their desks after school to help kill all the germs and keep my students healthy. The composition books are needed for math class to write their notes in. The door mat is for our front door. Students can wipe their shoes on it before entering the classroom, much needed when it's raining.
