Ninety percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Sixty percent of the students are English as a Second Language students. Some of the students are homeless. There are a lot of special needs students at the school.
The neighborhood that the school resides in was hit by a tornado a few years ago.
Some of the students live with grandparents or in single-parent homes. A lot of the parents are unemployed due to the recession and the economy.
The binders and pencil holders will allow the students to do their daily assignments and gain knowledge. The children need these school supplies in order to do their daily assignment and homework. The supplies will allow the kids to be more productive members of society.
The students will use the binders and pencil holders in small groups, with companions, as an entire class, and individually.
The supplies will help the children to have academic success and improve their learning. These are supplies that the kids need in order to do their daily work. Without these items, the students will not succeed.
