Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach an amazing group of 7th-grade special education students. These students are at a high poverty, inner-city school. All of our students are on the free breakfast and lunch program.
Many of our students' parents work odd hours and they barely get to spend time with their children.
I have some students being raised by a single parent or a grandparent. No matter what my students are going through at home, they always try their personal best in the classroom. My students know how high my expectations are for each one of them!
My Project
My students will benefit from having markers and post-it pads in order to create anchor charts. These will be referenced throughout the year on concepts that they are learning. In order to make the anchor charts more appealing, brightly colored markers are needed. With students making their own anchor charts, they will be more engaged and feel proud of their work.
What is the best way to make our classroom neat and clean?
This can be done by using disinfectant wipes to minimize germs, thus, improving attendance.
The magnetic borders and magnets will be used to display student work. The command hooks will also be used for displaying student projects and classroom materials. With displaying the work we will show everyone that we have high achieving students.
