School Supplies & Headphones That Last, Will Be A Blast!

My students need headphones for the computer during interventions. They also need pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors and book pouches.

My Students

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” - Pablo Picasso My students creativity shines through in every activity that we do! They love to color, cut and paste and add their own special touches to their writings and projects.

Our school houses almost twelve hundred students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

We are an underfunded, Title 1 school, in an inner city, where many ethnicities come together to learn and explore while speaking over forty languages! The students in my second grade class are a diverse bunch. They live in a high poverty area and they all receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

Some students come to 2nd grade reading below grade level. Therefore, using the interventions on the computer are part of our daily routine. The headphones will be used every day so students can focus on the interventions without having distractions. Students will use the crayons, pencils, scissors and glue daily in most activities. Students may cut and paste to compare and contrast, sort, match, design and collaborate with others in reading and math centers. Daily writing in journals, as well as constructed responses will pop with creativity if the students have the supplies they need. Also, the book pouches will house selected guided reading materials as well as personal literary selections.

Donations to this project will make a huge difference in my class!

Due to the economy, most parents struggle to provide the recommended supplies for 2nd grade. I strive to provide my students with the necessities such as pencils, crayons, scissors and glue. I want to alleviate the hardship that some parents face. Your support will allow me to help my students throughout the entire school year. Students will continue to shine and demonstrate their learning and creativity with your generosity!
