The start of kindergarten is such an exciting time for students and families, but for families with multiple students starting school, the cost of school supplies can add up quickly! My hope is to ease the financial burden, so families can focus on the excitement of a new school year.
This project will help to provide many of the basic supplies that my kindergartners use in the classroom, and that are used to get the classroom ready for my students!
Throughout the year, students will use markers, scissors, glue sticks, dry erase markers and watercolor paints for a variety of tasks. These will help with day to day activities like practicing writing letters and words on whiteboards, or cutting and gluing pictures to sort by beginning sounds. These tools will also aid students in developing their fine motor skills, and be used for special art projects. Silly scents crayons will bring some extra joy to coloring tasks, and because they are twistable, they always have a sharp point for coloring! Cardstock and laminating pouches are used throughout the year to create center activities, but are also used to make things like desk and cubby tags for students when I am setting up my classroom to make it a welcoming space for my amazing new students!
