My students need leveled texts to help them gain confidence while reading age-appropriate books and basic supplies to ensure my students can learn and create!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a new kindergarten teacher to a group of energetic, hard-working, young scholars. I teach at a Title One school in Baltimore City and approximately ninety-eight percent of my students come from low-income backgrounds. I want to provide my students with a differentiated, engaging education to empower my students.
The school I teach at is wonderfully diverse, with about one-third of the students being African American, one-third white and one-third Hispanic.
Many of my students are multilingual and multi-ethnic. Because of this, we have rich classroom environment with differing student strengths and abilities.
My Project
These materials will help my students engage in twenty-first century skills by providing a wide range of learning activities such as reading, creating and playing!
Each resource requested already has a "home" in my classroom.
The pocket chart will hold materials to teach letter sounds, the timer will help scholars keep track of work time and the leveled library will provide engaging, "just right" books during independent reading! Glue sticks will help students complete literacy sorts; watercolor paints will help my students tell stories through art.
These supplies will ensure my students receive the education that they deserve.
By donating to our project, you will help make a difference in the education of Baltimore's youngest learners. Thank you!
