School Supplies for SD Algebra Students

My students need office/school supplies, such as highlighters, paper, note pads, and sticky notes, in order to become more organized in the classroom and in their own personal lives.

My Students

By the end of the school year, I hope to cultivate a safe learning environment for students to access the Algebra standards and understand how to connect these concepts to the "real world." I want my students to feel capable of anything, even if they are in a special needs classroom.

My students are part of the Special Needs Program.

They are hard-working, avid learners who are trying their best to understand and learn the mathematical concepts presented to them. They go to a school that is very supportive and encourages learning. I hope to help students embody our school's virtues, which are: We are lifelong learners. We are leaders in training. Do not be part of the problem. Be part of the solution. Failure is not an option. Respect is a sign of strength. Discipline yourself so no one else has to. Stay calm at all times. If you have a goal, nothing is impossible. We come from greatness.

My Project

These supplies (highlighters, post-its, lined paper, poster paper) will make it easier for students to participate during the in-class activities. It also allows students to become more organized and better prepared for their classes. Also, having organizational tools will help me model what organizational strategies look like and allow students to practice different strategies to see which ones work best for them.

With these tools, we will be able to try a variety of new activities.

Receiving these supplies will also really boost the students' self esteem and help them become more excited about learning math. They will have more success in accessing the education in a way that suits their strengths.
