This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many diverse backgrounds which require many different approaches to teaching and learning. My students come in every day excited and ready to learn. Our school is a low-income school where every child receives free breakfast, snack and lunch. Many of our students come from homes that speak a language other than English.

Having the tools in the classroom my students need in order to succeed is very important to me!

Knowing my students come from different backgrounds and learn differently, I want to make sure they are well-equipped with all of the materials they need so that they can all learn to their highest potential and be prepared for the future!

My Project

With school less than a month away, we just learned that the first 10 weeks will be remote. This means I will be teaching 18 5th graders through a computer. As difficult as it will be, I want to make this transition as smooth as I can for my students.

I want to ensure my students have all the materials they need to successfully learn at home!

With these simple materials, my students will be able to compute math problems using the whiteboards, Creating beautiful writing pieces in their notebooks, listen to our Zooms with their own headphones and SO much more! With every student of mine having the same materials at home, it will make this school year start off a little bit more smoothly.
