This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am in a newly staffed position where my students have not had a consistent teacher for over a year.

My students are all very capable and wonderful kids.

I am a special education teacher in a high needs, low income school in Chicago. The students do not have much regarding supplies and resources and much is needed to get this new classroom off the ground. Because the position is new, resources are limited and funding low, your help will created a welcoming home for students who have the most difficulties learning, enjoy school.

Because of Covid-19, we will be remote learning to start the year. Even when we re-enter the building, my students have been in homes where Covid-19 affected their families. Parents were sick, lost jobs and do not have money for basic school supplies. My students will need basic fundamental supplies in order to participate in learning this year.

My Project

My project will support students from an area in Little Village, Chicago that was hit terribly hard during the pandemic. Many families do not have the funds at the moment to purchase school supplies for their children. These materials will be used in our daily classroom both at home and remotely.

Diverse learners need things like paper, books, highlighters, folders, paper and resources such as folders to help keep them organized.

By supporting this grant, you will be giving direct support to the students who already have obstacles in front of them before they even open a book and enter class.
