My Students

The fifth graders at our school are an energetic, open minded, persevering group of students. We work hard to challenge our students to be critical thinkers as well as problem solvers.

Our challenge as teachers is to make sure all of our students feel welcome and wanted at school.

We are seeing far too often that our students are using their lunch time to be on their phones playing games or on social media. We are missing the comradery needed for everyone to cheer for each other and feel accepted. We want our students off their phones and playing with each other learning to communicate and problem solve!

My Project

At our school we have quite a high turn over rate. Most of the students who start at our school at the beginning of the school year are not here at the end of the year.

When starting at a new school students are already nervous, having supplies for them makes them feel welcome and instantly a part of our school community!

We want these students to know we are ready to learn! Being able to support them with supplies such as pencils, paper, pens, and highlighters gives them the confidence they need to get started right away! Students are proud of their work when they are able to add color and details using the markers.
