This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright, creative and excited about experiencing new things. We are a Marine Corps JROTC Academy in a large city and we have a strong sense pride in our school, our community and the Marine Corps. We get a wide range of students from all over our city. They are some of the most polite, kind, engaged students that I have ever seen. When a task lies ahead of these students, they push themselves to succeed and more often than not, exceed expectations.

My Project

My students wear t-shirts to represent our school, the various sports they play for and their graduating classes. We would like to have the ability to design and make these t-shirts ourselves. I would like a heat press in order to attach the vinyl we have to the t-shirts creating our designs.

This heat press will make a difference in our learning because we can actually make the designs we create in my classroom.

We will research fashion and t-shirt design, sketch our design, cut them out of vinyl, press them on with a heat press, and wear our work with pride.
