Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are engaged, creative, and curious. They work hard on their academics and come to my classroom to express their creative side with visual arts. With the right lesson and proper tools, my students are completely involved in their artwork, often working quietly with intense focus. Many students tell me their favorite class is art class!
Our special school welcomes diversity and is home to many military families as well as students with special needs.
Teachers work hard to ensure that each child receives the best education that is differentiated to meet their needs. Our district prides itself on its thriving visual and performing arts program, but we require additional supplies to truly make our program a success for all learners.
My Project
Our students and staff work so hard throughout the school day, but it's just as crucial to encourage and promote physical activity on a daily basis. School sports teams are not only fun and offer students a healthy after-school activity, but they can also help promote school spirit throughout the community by bringing people together.
Our school currently does not offer any school sports teams, but with soccer balls, corner flags, ball bags, ball pumps, and portable goals, we can create some soccer teams for the following school year.
Being on a sports team helps develop friendships, builds teamwork and leadership skills, and often motivates players to represent their team on and off the field with integrity.
Physical activity has also been linked to increased focus and attention in the classroom. With more free opportunities to play organized sports, our students may learn to live a healthier lifestyle that can impact the rest of their lives.
