My Project

I teach gifted for students in 11 different elementary schools in Kanawha County, West Virginia. We have a courtyard in our school and I would like to update our fish pond. Ponds have many benefits beyond being a decorative addition. A school pond can become the favorite relaxation place, especially when it includes colorful fish and plants.

Listening to the running water of our pond's waterfall is naturally calming and provides interaction and educational benefits.

A school pond creates environmental awareness for our students. Our pond can also help teach our students about the responsibility we all have for caring for our environment, which can arouse their interest or passion in creating a better future for our planet.
