My students need new EV3 Lego Robotics units to grow as a team and allow for more students to be able to participate in the program.

My Students
I am a sixth grade teacher at Salt Lake Elementary School. I am also one of the school's First Lego League robotics coaches. I seek to provide enrichment in students lives as well as opportunities for students to grow as individuals and find the love for science, math, and learning that I have.
My students are a wonderful group of students who are diverse in every way possible.
The grade that I teach has 120 students, including a fairly high amount of ESL students. The area also has many students who have free or reduced lunches. Despite the inherit challenges that many of the students face, these students often face it head on and seek to improve not only themselves but the community around them.
I also volunteer my time after school to work with an enrichment program with some of the school's 5th and 6th graders working with Lego Robotics. We have teams that compete in the global FLL tournaments with other schools. Through my team's diligent efforts, they managed to win and secure spots for the state competition!
I am so proud of my students and hope that they never cease to amaze me!
My Project
The materials that I am requesting are Lego Robot kids which will be used in my school's Lego Robotics program. By having these kits, it will allow students to work hands on with the construction and programming of Lego Robots in order to develop real world critical thinking skills. With the addition of the EV3 units, it would allow the robotics program to grow by allowing more students opportunities to work with lego robotics to develop critical thinking skills, planning/building skills, programming skills, and being part of a team.
I am hoping that by proving more students opportunities such as Lego Robotics, that students can gain skills to be able to assist them through Elementary School, Middle school, High school, and continue on throughout the rest of their lives.
