Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I need a seat I can sit on that allows me to concentrate and learn. A seat where I do not mind sitting in for most of my school day. A seat that will support my back and help me keep my feet flat on the floor.

My new students will 25 eager learners who happen to live in the high poverty area of East New York in Brooklyn.

They will attend a public school that lack the resources to provide this basic need every student should have. The deserve to sit comfortably and not worry about falling off their seat due to bended legs or falling off backs.

My Project

The chairs will be used everyday by the students. They will sit on them as they learn to write, add, subtract and any activity that requires them to sit. They will use them while working on the computer and some art activities they do at their table. The chair will support their posture and help them concentrate more on their task instead of what they are sitting on because it has no comfort.

Most students do not have to worry about the chairs they sit on, mine do.

The budget does not allow them to replace 25 or more chairs at one time. This is where good people like you come. You have the ability to change all that. My students and I are relying on you.
