This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

LEGOs are a powerful incentive because they tap into a fundamental human desire to build and create. Their open-ended nature allows students to express their creativity, solve problems hands-on, and experience the satisfaction of bringing their ideas to life. This intrinsic motivation, combined with the tactile experience of building, makes LEGOs a more engaging and memorable reward than many other options, encouraging students to work towards goals not just for the reward itself but for the enjoyable process of earning it.

Furthermore, LEGOs function exceptionally well as an extrinsic motivator.

They are a tangible, desirable, and often collectible reward that students can keep and continue to enjoy outside of the classroom. This provides a clear and appealing target for students to strive for, and the variety of LEGO sets and pieces allows for differentiated rewards based on effort or achievement. Whether used for individual accomplishments or collaborative projects, LEGOs' tangible nature and inherent appeal make them a highly effective tool for encouraging positive behavior and academic effort.
