My Students
We all have heard of the story of the students in the rough neighborhoods, with tough backgrounds and no life experiences. Well this is exactly the case and more! We at PS 23Q need your help!
My students are mostly special education, emotionally disturbed students that have zero after school activities to look forward to.
These students attend a school where no other schools wanted them, mostly because of their emotional disabilities. My students love sports, especially basketball. These students cannot play basketball after-school because the district wont allow it. This year we found a basketball league that can play during the school day. My principal is on board, the teachers are on board, the students are definitely on board, but we have no money! We don't have equipment, funding, and uniforms either. The district is more worried about how they behave and their test results and not about their interests.
We need help from you! Our special students will appreciate it so much.
My Project
With your help, these students feel better about themselves for maybe the first time in their lives. Many of these students situations are so poor they don't know where they will live in a week, or who they will live with. The simple donation of basketballs will help in brightening up their rather dull and dreary lives.
By receiving these donations our students will learn skills they have never been taught before: teamwork, hard work, and how to develop long term friendships.
We are requesting basketballs, a scorebook, a first id kit and a horn to be used for practice and games.
These simple pieces of basketball equipment will go a long way to help these students practice and play more effectively in this league.
Not only their play will be much improved, but their quality of lives will be too.
