This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is starting a campus garden at R. Yzaguirre Middle School to benefit our students and community. The students built some garden beds with loaned tools, however, we had to return them to the owners. We need tools for the completion of the project and for it to be a success. Tools needed are power drills, shovels, gardening tools, seeds, bird feeders, and planters for our garden beds.
My students will have the opportunity to plant and tend to the garden throughout the school year, and possibly have a farmers market with the harvest.
The students and community are excited about this project, and we hope it will grow and thrive in the coming years.
