Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is starting a garden this summer. Several summer school teachers, including myself, are going to be contributing time and effort to the cause. We hope to have students across all grade levels helping in the garden. The initiation of a gardening course is underway in this or the next year's curriculum. The number of things our students will learn from a community garden is incalculable. Environmental sciences, climatology, recycling, personal wellness and gratification, and more!

As an English teacher, I am so excited to have a place where my students can read or write peacefully outside.

The sensory writing and story-building that we could do soon is so exciting!
