This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I love that my students are unapologetically unique! I serve a population that is of the lower economic status and each and every day, they show up to school with resilient attitudes and a drive to learn and grow, academically, socially, and mentally, like no other!

With this being the beginning of my second year as their Professional School Counselor, they have welcomed me with open arms and I am so grateful that day by day, they have continued to trust that I indeed have their best interest at heart.

My Project

With me being a new school counselor, I am still trying to build up my office library, in order to do individual and group lessons comfortably in my office. From last year's experience, the students at my school love fun stories and are eager to share connections when it comes to known character traits. With COVID, this year my school is going virtual; with this donation, I will be able to use the storybooks in my office at home. I am really passionate about what and how I teach my students' lessons that they will carry on for a lifetime.
